Climate

Puerto Galera falls into the "Tropical, monsoon" climatic classification having 3 seasons which can be generalized as: Cool Dry - December to February; Hot Dry - March to May; Rainy - June to November.

The cool, dry winds of the northeast monsoon (Amihan) blow from November to April, while the humid southwest monsoon (Habagat) occurs from June to October. The NE/SW monsoon switch is not generally clear-cut and winds can be variable for a few weeks especially in May.

January is the coolest month with temperatures in the mid to high 20s Celcius, with May being the warmest with temperatures typically in the low to mid 30s.

Annual rainfall varies between around 1,200mm to 2,200mm with an average of around 1,700mm. Typhoons and tropical storms can occur in any month but are most frequent from June to October.
